Why he’s now called Dr. Namadingo

Patience was honoured the with an honorary degree by the University of South Africa (Unisa) due to his humanitarian efforts in Malawi.

The artist has, among other things, raised funds for a lot of people in need including William Kachigamba, an artist who is now undergoing treatment for cancer in Zambia.

The artist even gained the attention of President Lazarus Chakwera, who offered to offset the balance, when Patience posed as a statue in Blantyre to raise the funds for William.

However, while expressing his gratitude for the degree, Dr. Namadingo said he was not doing it to be recognized.

“It is good and great to be recognized for what you are doing when were not doing it to be recognized and to be recognized by a reputable university. This is great and encourages me to do more,” the Mapulani star said.
