Sandfest hangs Hangout to dry?

There has been a controversy going on between Sand Music Festival and Hangout as the organizers of the two events seem to have planned 1-3 October this year for the “Tiyeni” event.

Last year, Sandfest was held at Sunbird in Salima, but the organizers are yet to announce a venue for this year’s event.

The festival manager Nkhwachi Mhango says they don’t want to repeat last year’s mistakes, following disruption by rains and poor communication to their audience – which led the fans to react angrily during the event.

However, there is a different poster circulating of Hangout Festival which is set on the same dates. The Sandfest organizers maintain that their dates aren’t changing.
