Red Lions Fined 500K

Zomba-based Malawi Defence force outfit, Red Lions has been slapped with a K500,000.00 fine by the Super League of Malawi (SULOM) for failing to provide security as a home team during a week 12 TNM Super League match against current league leaders Silver Strikers.

According to SULOM, the disciplinary committee has considered article 25.10.23.1 and article 32 of the SULOM constitution.

The Reds are charged with acts of violence or attempt against match officials and failure to protect match officials at the venue.

SULOM has also suspend the team’s current top scorer Royal Bokosi and other two technical officials for insulting referee Evidence Kananji and his assistant Happiness Mbandambanda. Both have faced a two match ban.
